About Jes

Jes Almeida is currently a NYC/Brooklyn based actress, director and writer. Originally born and raised in Stratford, CT, she attended HOFSTRA University’s performing Art’s program before graduating from Western CT State University with a BA in Performance and a minor in communications. She’s performed in well known spaces such as the Edinburgh, Fringe Festival (Scotland) and off-off broadway theatre in NYC and the surrounding area. She has spent the last 20 years performing in staged dramas, musicals and on various films.

She is also founder of Spark Creative Works, an organization dedicated to providing opportunities for woman in the arts in the NY area and a member of the Happenstance Productions team. Spark Creative Works and Happenstance Productions have produced over 16+ Short films over the last 5 years. During Spark Creative Works produced 100+ reading for women all over the United States to help them develop their short plays.

Happenstance Productions frequently participates in the New Haven CT 48 hour film festival where our last entry “into the quiet’ placed as first runner up for overall best film. Jes was the concept originator and a lead member of the writing team. Jes was also nominated for best Actress and won previously for her work on “Noble Rot”, a Happenstance horror short and New Haven 48 hour film fest entry.

Jes has recently joined SAG-AFTRA and is currently seeking new representation.
